Heavy-duty floor screeding delivers optimal durability. Our screeding company recommends this option for areas which experience heavy foot or vehicle traffic, or which bear heavy loads such as machinery. Some applications for heavy-duty screed include garages, patios and industrial units.
Our heavy-duty screed is normally a standard fibre screed with a higher cement content. Admixtures like SBR and pea shingle will be put in the screed mix. As part of our screeding services, we can also incorporate heavy-duty reinforcing mesh through the middle of the screed to add more strength and reduce cracking.
This screed is an excellent alternative to concrete because we can lay it to specified falls/slopes for drainage purposes. It also gives a much better finish which you can tile over or paint depending on location and use.
Our floor screeding services include polymer-modified screed. This is ideal where there is not sufficient depth to install a traditional fibre screed and where things like door heights are an issue. We can lay polymer screed to a much thinner specification – if bonded, this can be as low as 20mm.
Compared to using a latex screed, this can save you money because materials are a fraction of the cost and won’t jeopardise the strength of the slab.
As a trusted screeding company, we are used to working with clients in the Slough and Aylesbury areas who need to meet tight deadlines. To help you meet project schedules, we offer a quick-drying additive for all screed types. We add this onsite during the mixing process and it enables screeds to dry in as fast as three days.
Where suitable, we can fully bond screed to the substrate using a primer or bonding agent. This is a common option for thinner screeds where there is not enough space for an unbonded screed and where the surface will be subject to heavy loading.
